Lions recognize safe boating week

Last week was National Safe Boating Week, and Minden Lions want to remind all boaters to brush up on boating safety skills and prepare for the boating season. The National Safe Boating Council reports that many preventable boating accidents occur each year that result in tragic deaths and injuries. Observing boating safety precautions is essential for all boaters, whether you are fishing, sailing, kayaking, or motoring. Life jackets save lives!

On Thursday, Minden Councilwoman Pam Bloxom presented a mayoral proclamation declaring this week as Safe Boating Week in Minden.
