A local woman has been arrested by Minden Police for striking a man with his cell phone.

Mary Woodall, 31, of the 400 block of Webb Court, Minden, is charged with aggravated second degree battery, which is a felony.

Minden Police Chief Jared McIver said that around 5 p.m. Sunday, January 1, Ofc. Chris Cayer was dispatched to the Webb Court address.

“The call was in reference to a disturbance at that address,” McIver said. “The caller said Woodall took his phone and when he attempted to retrieve it, she struck him on the forehead with the phone, knocking him to the ground.”

Emergency Medical Services was reportedly dispatched to the scene to tend to a deep laceration on the complainant’s forehead, which was allegedly made by Woodall.

“Woodall fled the residence after he called police,” said the chief. “Sgt. Shawn Griffith located her on McIntyre Street. She was taken into custody without incident.”
