Service scheduled for late police juror

Funeral arrangements have been made for District #5 Webster Parish Police Juror Bernard Hudson who passed away Saturday, February 4. 

Visitation will be held at Benevolent Funeral Home in Minden on Friday, February 10. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Growing Valley Missionary Baptist Church.  

Hudson and suffered from several health issues related to diabetes.  

The Webster Parish Police Jury held their first meeting since his passing on Tuesday, February 7 where many members expressed their condolences including WPPJ President Jim Bonsall. 

He said, “Today before we get started, I am sure all of you know that Bernard passed away. Bernard was a good juror, and he took care of his district very well. He worked extremely hard. It is just a sad day.” 

Hudson has served on the police jury since 2016.  

Fellow police juror for District #10 Vera Davison will be speaking at the funeral Saturday on behalf of the jury.  

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the Growing Valley Missionary Baptist Church Youth Department.
