Three Minden Police Department members received special recognition during a recent awards ceremony honoring the KSLA12 First Alert, First Responder of the Year in the Ark-La-Tex.

MPD’s Synonda Howard was named Dispatcher of the Year for the region and Officer Ladarius Joseph received a nomination as School Resource Officer (SRO) of the Year.

Minden’s Chief of Police Jared McIver was one of four from the Ark-La-Tex to be nominated as Chief of the Year.

“We are very proud of Synonda in winning this award. This is something all of us who work with her know is very well deserved,” McIver said. “It was also an honor for me and for Ladarius to be nominated from among so many.”
