Tons of vendors lined the streets for the 25th annual Main to Main event held this past weekend, November 1 –2, with even more shoppers working their way along the 50-mile route stretching from Sibley to Springhill.
In conjunction with the annual event, Minden Main Street hosted an inaugural Jambin’ on Main event that boosted even more than usual foot traffic through downtown. The event also featured premiere judge, renowned food blogger and Louisiana chef Phillip Norred.
Eight teams participated to showcase their cooking skills. Attendees also had the opportunity to try-out their concoctions and vote for the People’s Choice winner.
“The inaugural Jambin’ on Main was a success. Even with this event drawing eight competitors, a good time was had by all,” said Minden Main Street board member Shawn Hatcher. “The People’s Choice brought in nearly 200 taste testers.”
First place was awarded to Randy Stevenson and the Ponderosa Pot Stirers. Second place went to Scott McCullough and BTI Smokers while Zach Goodman and the Roosters took home both third place and the People’s Choice award.
Hatcher said, “We will be bringing back this event next year, bigger and better. Thanks, Minden, for a great event.”
