Striking a female and her teenage son during a domestic dispute at a Minden residence has resulted in jail time for a Dubberly man.

Jedrick Howard, Jr., a 45-year-old resident of the 100 block of Holomon Loop, was arrested Saturday by Minden police officers for domestic abuse with child endangerment, cruelty to juveniles and resisting an officer.

Howard reportedly is being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where his bond has been set at $45,500.

Officer Cody James reportedly responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 1100 block of Cherry St. just before 8 p.m. where he was met at the door by a female who had a noticeable injury to her lip. The officer reportedly was told the suspect had fled the residence.

Howard reportedly was quickly found hiding beneath a vehicle in the 1100 block of East St. by the officer, but ignored repeated verbal commands to come out. When he finally came from beneath the car, Howard allegedly actively resisted arrest but was taken into custody.

After returning to the scene of the incident, the officer was told Howard struck the female twice in her face with a cell phone, resulting in a busted lip. He also allegedly struck the woman’s teenage son with the back of his hand.
