
Cameron Parker poured in 34 points to lead the way as the Minden Crimson Tide held off a second half Booker T. Washington surge to claim a 73-69 District 1-4A win Tuesday.
Minden led 39-29 at the half, but saw that lead evaporate as the Lions put up 27 third quarter points to go up 56-55 heading into the final stanza. The Tide outscored the Lions 18-13 in the fourth quarter to up their season record to 10-7 (1-1 in 1-4A).
Kameron Harris added 15 points and Javen Calloway had 11 to help put the Tide over the top.
BTW’s Dakerion Mitchell scored 30 while Brian French had 14 and Jackson Bates tossed in 13 as the Lions dropped to 6-8 on the season, 0-2 in league play.
Next action for the Tide comes Friday when Bossier’s Bearkats come calling for a pair of varsity games. Girls’ action tips off at 6 p.m. followed by the 7:30 boys’ game.
On Tuesday, Feb. 10, Minden travels to Northwood for boys and girls games, scheduled to begin with the Lady Tiders at 6 p.m.
Minden will be on the road again Wednesday, Feb. 11 to take on Loyola in a pair of varsity games that were rescheduled due to the winter storm.
Other games on the Tide schedule are a Friday, Feb. 13 matchup with Southwood on Minden’s home court (two games), followed by Feb. 16 contests at home with North DeSoto and a Feb. 18 home game with Benton in a boys’s only contest scheduled for 6 p.m.
