Showers and thunderstorms forecast for Saturday, with severe weather risk forecast late Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening.
Area will be in the marginal risk category with threats of tornado, large hail and damaging winds valid from Saturday at 7 a.m. through 7 a.m. Sunday. Lightening will likely be a threat Saturday into Saturday night as storms move through.
A slight risk for flash flooding is valid from 7 a.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday.
With current dry conditions, periods of low RH values and higher winds will support fire weather concerns. According to the drought monitor, I-20 north is in a D2 severe drought intensity and south of I-20 is in a D1 moderate drought intensity.
