
Minden’s Crimson Tide overcame an 11-point halftime deficit with a 42-point second half outburst to claim a 59-52 District 1-4A win over the Loyola Flyers Wednesday.
After building the halftime lead, Loyola led 43-40 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Tide outscored the Flyers 19-9 in the final stanza to up its district record to 3-2 (12-8 for the year).
Gerald Richardson and Cameron Parker led Minden with 19 points apiece followed by Markavius Johnson with eight.
Loyola’s Easton Baker led his team with 15 points as the Flyers dropped to 10-14 for the season and 2-2 in district play.
Southwood provides the next competition for the Crimson Tide, coming to Minden for a pair of contests. Girls’ play begins at 6 p.m. followed by a 7:30 boys’ match.
North DeSoto will come to the Tide gym Monday for a varsity boys game only. Rounding out the week will be a boys only home matchup with Benton on Wednesday. Tipoff for both games is scheduled for 6 p.m.
