Minden Recreation Department softball recaps

Plenty of nail-biting action was provided in a recent softball competition staged by the Minden Recreation Department, whose scorekeepers tracked the details in each game reported. These recaps are through last week’s competition. This is the final week of regular-season games.

 Dixie Angels

 Lady Legends 6, Sparks 5:  Ella Wood homered and scored two times while McKinley James doubled and crossed home twice for the winners. Tinley Harley tripled and scored while Rhea Waller singled and scored for Lady Legends.

Presley Wood tripled and scored, Riley Bown doubled and scored, and Brayleigh Lewis, Nae Hill and Lillie McLawn all singled and tallied in a five-run bottom of the third that fell one run short.

Lady Legends 2, Bat Attitudes 1: A defensive battle was decided by a run in the bottom of the third and final inning.  Kenzie Pamintover and Ja’laila Moore each had a hit and scored for the Legends. Jaidyn Smith singled and crossed the plate in the top of the second inning for Bat Attitudes.

Sparks 2, Bat Attitudes 0:  Two runs in the top of the first got the W for the Sparks, who benefitted from a triple by Harleigh Hart, a double by Presley Wood, and a base hit from Nae Hill. She and Wood scored.

Brylee Cox and Klaytin David had hits for Bat Attitudes.

Dixie Darlings (7-8)

Darling Divas 6, Bat Attitudes 2:  Emma Baxter homered and Stella Perryman doubled twice to lead the Divas, who picked up two hits by Willow Still and Presleigh Nelson. Clara Williams and Annabeth Brown contributed doubles. Another top offensive producer was Kynlee Wood.

Addyson Giddings had a pair of doubles to lead Bad Attitude, while Brooklyn Southerland also had a two-bagger. Emily Adams collected three hits.

Pinch Sox 10, Bat Attitudes 0: Two doubles apiece by Emmaline Harmon and Karlee Baxter, and one each from Ellie Perryman and Lola Huddleston, were among the highlights for Pinch Sox. Layla Holford, Eme Jernigan and Kenleigh Thomas each had two hits, and Holford and Jernigan scored twice along with Huddleston. Other top producers were Kailyn Lewis, Aniston Igo, Peyton Wood and Caroline Ware.

Bat Attitudes had nine hits but couldn’t score. Isabella Morado, Jada Johnson and Calisha Whiting each owned two hits, while Southerland, Katie Hammiter and Jacie McKitchen had one.

 Darling Divas 7, Fury 4: The Divas did all their damage in the top of the fourth, and in the bottom of the inning, Fury followed suit. There was no scoring in the other four innings.

For the Divas, six players delivered two hits – Presley Banon, Reagan Blanchard, Aubrey Chanler, Presleigh Nelson, Willow Still, and Clara Williams. Annabeth Brown and Emma Krater each lashed a triple.

Mayleigh Butler, Lyndsey McDonald and Elena Stiles all delivered two hits for the Fury, while Marian Wimberly tripled and Kynlee Garms doubled.
