Those opening a new business in the Minden area should know: the Minden Greater Chamber of Commerce will support you, even if you don’t have a place yet to have a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Tuesday morning, the Chamber celebrated the opening of Healing from the Heart and owner Javelin L. Hardy, MSW, with a ribbon cutting at the Chamber office on Sibley Road.
Hardy, is returning to Minden after many years. Her business covers mind, spirit and body health. She also has a background working with law enforcement and other emergency responders as a consulting and trauma informed care trainer.
“We hope to have community training with police officers. That’s what we did in Portland, Ore.,” Hardy said. “It’s part of keeping the community safe.”
Until she finds her own place, Hardy’s business bases out of 308 Pine St. with her friend Tanesha Richardson, who owns Glow Esthetics.

“We are very thankful that Javelin has chosen to come back here and plant the seeds of her business,” said Chamber President Jana Morgan.
