Meet the Knights held in Springhill

The North Webster Knights kicked off the beginning of their football season with the annual Meet the Knights event held at Baucum-Farrar Stadium in Springhill.

The celebration began by introducing the new and improved school mascot, Knightro. He made his debut with a unique and spirited performance. He showed the community what it takes to be a “famous” mascot.

The Cheerleaders, Knightline, Flagline, Majorettes, Band of Armor, and Lady Royales were all individually introduced. After their introduction, each group took their turn entertaining the crowd by performing new routines.

Then it was time to “Meet the Knights” football players, beginning with the newest addition to our team, the freshmen and ending with the seniors. Lastly, the jerseys of Donald Owens and Antavious Tate, two Knights who were unfortunately lost this past summer, were carried onto the field by fellow classmates.

The event closed with all spirit groups and football players dancing and singing along to the “Mash-Up,” which is one of North Webster High School’s most looked-forward to MTK traditions.

This year the theme was “10 Year Anniversary.” Organizers made sure to use at least one song an dance move from all ten past mash-ups, and they brought back the big finale where the seniors all come forward, locked arms, and cherished their last Meet the Knights together.

The Knights open the season at home on Friday against Haynesville.
