The Minden City Council will meet in special session at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13 in council chambers at Minden City Hall to try again to pass a budget.
Minden Mayor Terry Gardner said he is more optimistic about the budget passing on this, the fourth try.
“I have met with Councilmen (Wayne) Edwards and (Michael) Roy and Councilwoman (Pam) Bloxom” Gardner said.
“Councilwoman (Terika) Williams-Walker and Councilman (Vincen) Bradford have not returned numerous phone calls.”
The other item on the agenda is a request for authorization to poll utility customers regarding a proposal to attach a $5 surcharge on all utility bills in order to fund a salary increase for fire and police personnel.
The public is invited to attend.
