Spillers shares love for technical education with Minden Lions members

The Minden Lions Club was honored to have Dr. Jayda Spillers as guest speaker on Thursday, Sept. 23. Dr. Spillers is the Vice Chancellor of Education and Workforce Partnerships at Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College.

She shared with the Lions her passion for technical education and helping to connect students with the regional workforce. Dr. Spillers spoke about the benefits of dual enrollment opportunities for area high school students as well as Jump Start, Louisiana’s innovative career and technical education (CTE) program. Jump Start prepares students to lead productive adult lives, capable of continuing their education after high school while earning certifications in high-wage career sectors.

Dr. Spillers was invited and introduced by Lion Earl Meader, NWLTCC chancellor (pictured at right).
