Minden Fire Department added a new, yet familiar face to its roster during Monday’s meeting of the Minden City Council.

At Fire Chief Kip Mourad’s recommendation, the council voted unanimously to hire Hank Ashley as a probationary firefighter.

“Hank has been on the Minden Fire Department since 2016 as a volunteer,” Mourad said. “He has been a hard worker and will be a dedicated addition to our fire department.”

Ashley passed his state examination for entry level firefighters with a score of 92 percent.
