Minden Lions welcome Patrick White as speaker

The Minden Lions were blessed to have Patrick White from the “We’re Here” non-profit organization, hosted by Lion Chief Steve Cropper.

White shared an inspiring message to the group about how the community should spread the love and to be the ear to the youth, listen to them, show them you care about them. Show the youth they are assets to our community and how to live in a community. He said “We’re Here” wants to give folks in the community a listening ear and attempt to fill the needs of those around Minden.

“Find a way to give, find a way to love. If you’re not willing to give and love, get out of the way,” White said.

Through partnering with different non-profit organizations in Minden, “We’re Here” was able to give away more than 150 bicycles to kids in the community in July, fed 500 people in August and held a movie night in July while feeding several more folks. Around Thanksgiving “We’re Here” will be feeding more people in the community, and then in December will host a toy drive and give away.

The Lions also were glad to host Donnie Irby from the Webster Parish Fair. He presented $500 checks to the Minden Police Department and the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.
