Government agencies join to deliver emergency supplies

The Webster Parish Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness thanks Sheriff Jason Parker for his work crew, as well as the Webster Parish Police Jury Public Works Department for assisting in the delivery of emergency water and other supplies to multiple towns across Webster Parish last Wednesday.

Webster Parish OHSEP partnered with multiple fire departments in the parish to store items such as emergency water in the event it is needed in the future. This was made available by the cooperation between the local emergency preparedness office and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

“In an emergency we can usually get assistance from the state,” said local Homeland Security director Brian Williams. “In the case of last winter’s storm, that assistance can be delayed, and our goal is to be self-sufficient at the local level when we can.”
