Springhill Police officers have taken two local residents off the streets for selling drugs.

Floyd Brown, 63, and Amy Lindsey, 34, were arrested and charged with possession of Sch. II with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police Chief Will Lynd said Ofc. Dilorenzo and Sgt. Causey stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Hwy. 371 North in the early morning hours Thursday.

“The vehicle came to a stop in the Cash Magic parking lot,” Lynd said. “The driver was identified as Brown and the passenger was identified as Lindsey. Brown had a suspended license.”

Lynd said Brown indicated there may be drugs in the vehicle by stating, “If there is anything in there, it’s not mine.”

“Brown consented to a vehicle search,” said the chief. “SP-9 arrived and during the search, several items were recovered including one suspected glass pipe used to smoke Methamphetamine in the center console near the passenger seat where Lindsey was sitting. There was one medium-sized bag with three smaller individually wrapped plastic bags filled with suspected Methamphetamine in a compartment near the steering wheel where Brown was sitting.”

According to reports, neither subject would take ownership of the recovered items. They were taken into custody and transported to Springhill Police Department where they were interviewed by detectives. They were transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
