A call for disturbing the peace netted Minden Police a local woman on drug charges.

Melinda Patton, 33, of the 1300 block of Sheppard St., Minden, was arrested on 2 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, contempt of court and a bench warrant.

Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said OFC. Anthony Miller answered the call Sunday afternoon and discovered the subject had an active warrant through MPD.

“The officer took her into custody, while Lt. Chris Hammontree searched her backpack,” Cropper said. “He located marijuana-related drug paraphernalia – such as a used grinder – a used marijuana pipe and a cigar cutter.”

The chief said Hammontree also located a used glass methamphetamine pipe.

Patton was booked at MPD and later transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
