Huntington scored three runs in the sixth inning, but Doyline Panthers still won 13-5 on Monday. Huntington batters contributing to the big inning included Ashton Riley and Philips Scott, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Doyline got things started in the first inning when Noah Kafka drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Panthers pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Noah Spears doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Dakota Stewart doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Jonas Florence singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Doyline Panthers notched four runs in the sixth inning. The offense in the inning was led by Zach Normand, Cameron Johnson, and Kafka, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Austin Arbaugh earned the win for Doyline. The righthander lasted six innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out 13.
Doyline Panthers racked up nine hits on the day. Normand and Benton Bates all managed multiple hits. Bates and Normand each managed two hits to lead the team. Bates led with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 14 stolen bases.
