
Quitman 12, Minden 2
Tuesday was a tough day for Minden Crimson Tide who lost 12-2 to Quitman.
Quitman scored four runs in the fourth inning. Morgan and Ponder each had RBIs in the big inning.
Simonelli led Quitman to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He surrendered two runs on six hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out eight.
Jacob Jackson took the loss for Minden. The right-hander lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out one.
Jackson, Price Miller, Brody Bower, Elliott Shpeeard, Jackson Mayfield and Bryson Ranger each managed one hit to lead the Tide.
Quitman collected 11 hits on the day.
North Caddo 13, Doyline 3
Doyline Panthers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-3 loss to North Caddo Tuesday. North Caddo scored on a double by Brooks Byerley and a single by Waylong Womack in the first inning.
Doyline struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing North Caddo, giving up 13 runs.
The Panthers fired up the offense in the first inning. Noah Spears drove in one when Spears singled.
North Caddo scored five runs in the fourth inning. North Caddo’s big inning was driven by groundouts by Nate Byrd and Womack, a triple by Byerley and a single by Alex Dominick.
Spears took the loss for the Panthers. The righty lasted three and a third innings, allowing eight hits and nine runs while striking out three and walking zero.
Austin Arbaugh led the Panthers with two hits in three at-bats.
OCS 10, Glenbrook 0
Glenbrook Apaches watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-0 loss to OCS Tuesday. OCS took the lead on an error in the first inning.
Glenbrook struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing OCS, giving up 10 runs.
One bright spot for the Apaches was a single by Hayden Harmon in the first inning.
Cale Hollis took the loss for Glenbrook. The bulldog allowed five hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four.
Garrett Brown and Harmon had one hit to lead the Apaches.
Calvary Baptist 4, Minden 1
Even though the Minden Crimson Tide collected six hits to Calvary Baptist Academy’s five, they still fell 4-1 in Monday’s game.
The Tide got on board in the second inning.Brody Bower hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
Calvary Baptist knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored one run for Calvary.
Calvary pulled away for good with one run in the third inning when Vannoppen singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Smith earned the win for Calvary. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out seven.
Zander Rowell took the loss for Minden. The lefty lasted six innings, allowing five hits and four runs while walking one.
Minden totaled six hits in the game. Jacob Jackson and Brandon Winston managed multiple hits for the Tide. Jackson went 3 for 3 at the plate to lead in hits.
