A death at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center is still under investigation.

Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said Lawrence Murray was transferred to BDCC on April 6.

“As he was being processed, he was told by deputies to take a shower,” Parker said. “After a few minutes, the deputies checked on him and he was unresponsive.”

Murray’s body was sent for autopsy. The sheriff is still awaiting results.
