B1 Bank, UCAP team up to bring annual golf tournament fundraiser

Last year’s UCAP Golf Tournament

B1 Bank and the United Christian Assistance Program are set to host their 11th annual golf tournament on May 21 and 22. The tournament will be held at Pine Hills Country Club in Minden. It will be a two-man scramble with food and beverages provided on both days, and a Calcutta Saturday evening.

UCAP is a non-profit, non-denomination cooperative effort of Christian churches in the Minden area. The money raised from the tournament will help support UCAP in providing emergency food, rent assistance, utility assistance and clothing for those in need.

“The golf tournament raised $20,000 for UCAP last year,” said Kevin McCann, UCAP Representative. “It is the only fundraiser we will have in 2022, as it was in 2020 and 2021. We had a cake auction fundraiser prior to Covid but haven’t had one since 2019.”

Since its inception in 1985 the program has helped more than 25,000 people and given assistance to over 800 families in the past year.

They are still looking for new sponsors. They have gold, silver and hole sponsorships available. A gold sponsorship costs $1,000 and includes two teams in the tournament and a hole sign. Silver sponsorship is $500, and you can have one team and a hole sign. Hole sponsors are $125 and will have a sign placed on one of the available holes during the tournament. Your sponsorship will also be recognized at dinner on Saturday evening. A non-sponsor entry fee is $300 per team.

“B1 Bank is proud to remain title sponsor of the 11th annual golf tournament to benefit UCAP,” said Senior Vice President, Micah Hanson. “Please come out and enjoy a day on the course with great people for a deserving cause.”

Consider signing up as a sponsor or golfer to help raise money for local families in need. You can mail entry forms and donations to UCAP at P.O. Box 314, Minden, LA 71058 or drop them off at B1 Bank located at 100 MBL Bank Drive.
