Minden Police, responding to a disturbance Saturday night, arrested a local man on multiple charges.
Jimmy R. Lee, 46, of the 700 block of Peach St., Minden, is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated criminal damage to property and domestic abuse battery.
Chief Steve Cropper said OFC. Christopher Cayer was dispatched to the Peach Street location around 10 p.m. where he made contact with 2 subjects.
“As he was attempting to speak with them, Lee began walking toward them yelling loudly,” Cropper said. “Since one of the subjects claimed Lee was in a physical altercation with her, the officer gave him a verbal command to stand by his vehicle.”
The female subject reportedly said Lee grabbed her neck, forcing her out of his residence, as they were arguing.
“Two other subjects arrived at the scene and tried to convince the female to leave for her safety,” Cropper said. “Then Lee armed himself with a green T-post. He approached one subject in a threatening manner, which led to a physical encounter. Lee tried repeatedly to strike the other subject, and they began struggling for control of the T-post. Lee pushed him against a vehicle, attempting to choke him with the T-post and causing significant damage to the vehicle.”
As OFC. Cayer was arresting Lee, he reportedly said the female subject “slammed” his mother’s door, so he choked her and threw her out the front door.
