Minden Police have arrested a local woman for drugs after she picked up a friend who was already running from the law.
Crystal Danielle Mattingly, 48, of the 100 block of Wallace Circle, Minden, was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine and Trazadone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Christopher Reed, 47, of the 800 block of Robertson Dr., Minden, is charged as a fugitive from Probation & Parole.
According to Chief Steve Cropper, Sgt. Mitch Hackett was dispatched to Robertson Drive Tuesday morning in reference to a disturbance.
“The officer was advised the disturbance was connected to Reed, who has an active warrant through Probation and Parole,” Cropper said. “Dispatch also advised that Reed had run through the woods and was picked up by someone in a red vehicle.”
The vehicle reportedly headed south on Sibley Road and officers conducted a traffic stop at a Sibley Road truck stop.
“Reed was the passenger in the vehicle, which was driven by Mattingly,” said the chief.
Off. Kayla Little arrived on the scene to talk with Mattingly. A search of her person reportedly revealed suspected crystal methamphetamine.
“In her purse was a prescription bottle with no label,” Cropper said. “It contained Trazadone pills and a Suboxone strip.”
Cropper said a glass smoking pipe with a white crystalline substance inside was also located, along with a small container containing more of the suspected crystal methamphetamine.
Mattingly and Reed were transported to Minden Police Department for booking before being transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
