Candidate withdraws from Dixie Inn election

By Tina Montgomery

There may be a new face on the Board of Aldermen for the Village of Dixie Inn sooner than expected.

The Webster Parish Journal learned on Tuesday that alderman candidate Nell Finlay has withdrawn from the election. That leaves Anthony Crittenden as the sole candidate for the November election.

According to an email from Village Hall, the Village must wait to hear from the Secretary of State’s office whether Crittenden can be appointed to the Board before the election.

There has been a vacancy on the Board of Aldermen since May of this year when Hallmark-Stratton resigned and Alderman Donna Hoffoss was appointed Mayor.
