Minden Police arrested a local pair after conducting a routine traffic stop and locating drugs.

Courtney Alexandria Vining, 31, of the 200 block of Clerk St., Minden, was arrested by MPD for possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of justice. She was also charged by Dixie Inn police on two active warrants.

Patrick Jackson, 47, of the 100 block of Lorex Rd., Minden, is charged with driving under suspension, no headlights, possession of methamphetamine, obstruction of justice and is on a hold for Probation and Parole.

Police Chief Steve Cropper said his officers Reece Tewell, Heather Feeback and Sgt. Jeremy Sitter were part of the arrests.

“Officers stopped a vehicle that exited the Exacta Inn without headlights on,” Cropper said. “The vehicle headed south on Highway 371, continuing without headlights.”

The suspect vehicle was reportedly pulled over at the intersection Penal Farm Road and Hwy. 371.

“After gaining consent to search the vehicle, the suspects, Vining and Jackson were asked to exit the vehicle,” said the chief. “While searching the vehicle, a clear crystal like substance suspected to be methamphetamine was found all over the driver seat and floor board and the passenger seat. Also, in the passenger seat was a soda bottle containing suspected methamphetamine.”

Cropper said the substances field tested positive for methamphetamine. Jackson and Vining were transported to Minden Police Department and transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
