Feed a family in need this holiday season

By Paige Nash

A new month means new goals for the Joe Leblanc Food Pantry. The ninth annual “Feed a Family” fundraiser kicked off on October 1. They are anticipating the community to help in reaching their goal of 1200 sponsorships this year.

These sponsorships are only $25 each and go towards providing a full holiday dinner with all the fixings for a family in need within our parish. The dinner will consist of a turkey or ham, dressing, carrots, green beans, corn, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, corn bread, desserts and more.

Last year this fundraiser was widely successful and allowed Joe Leblanc Food Pantry to provide 1200 of these meals to families in all parts of the parish for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

If you are interested in sponsoring a meal for the “Feed a Family” initiative, you can find a form to fill out electronically on the JLFP Facebook page. If you choose to go this route, they are now accepting donations through Paypal at joeleblancfoodbank@yahoo.com. If you receive one in the mail, you can fill it out and mail a check to 814 Constable Street in Minden.

Follow them on Facebook to keep up with their Friday “Feed a Family” updates.
