Chamber of Commerce spotlights Springhill Art League

The Springhill North Webster Chamber of Commerce points the spotlight on Springhill Art League this week as their featured Chamber member. Springhill Art League is located at 222 North Main Street, Springhill.

Nineteen ladies met in the home of Erma Boucher in 1968 to organize what was then called “Canvas Pals.” The name later changed to Springhill Art League and incorporated on October 10, 1976. Their charter was closed when there were 25 members but today it stands at 65 members. The Springhill Art League is a non-profit organization with the purpose to maintain and increase interest in art, to create opportunity for sharing instruction by arranging classes and workshops and to provide for exhibits of arts and crafts.

The current officers of the Springhill Art League are President Patsy Hood, Vice-President Anita Cooper, Secretary Jan Smith, and Treasurer Cynthia Keith. The League offered art lessons this past summer to young children to expand their experiences with art. When you drive down Main Street be sure to check out their beautiful art displays in the windows of their building.
