Cotton Valley Police arrest man for assault of girlfriend

Cotton Valley Police have arrested a local man for assaulting his girlfriend.

Alex Fitzgerald Hendricks, 45, of the 100 block of White Oak, Cotton Valley, is charged with aggravated assault, home invasion, domestic abuse battery and contempt of court (warrant).

According to reports, CV officers Reginald Ferguson and Wayne Miller interviewed the complainant who advised she was assaulted and her arm was injured, but she did not wish to press charges.

A video recording interview was conducted at the CV Police Department where the victim reportedly advised that Hendricks struck her with a phone and punched her in the back of her neck, while at his residence. She then said she left and walked to her residence.

The victim also told officers that Hendricks called her when she arrived at her residence and threatened her. He reportedly arrived at her residence and forced entry into her home.

She advised officers that she attempted to defend herself using a bat; however, Hendricks allegedly took the bat and beat her with it.

Hendricks was arrested and is housed at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on more than $90,000 in bonds.
