A multi-time convicted felon is behind bars again.

Domonick Shantess Reed, 31, of the 11000 block of Young Street, Minden, was arrested by MPD as a felon in possession of a firearm, 2 counts of possession of legend drugs, running a stop sign, general speed, open container and probation and parole hold.

Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said Off. Ben Sparks was patrolling Sunday afternoon when he spotted a white Dodge Challenger run through a stop sign at East Street and Columbia.

“Off. Sparks initiated the stop at Industrial Drive and East,” said the chief. “He paced the car doing 55 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone.”

Sparks reportedly observed an open container of alcohol in Reed’s vehicle.

“Reed gave consent to search his vehicle and, during the search, Off. Sparks, Sgt. Jason Smith and Lt. Chris Hammontree located 3 Baclofen (legend drug), 3 Gabapenton (legend drug), 1 bagging containing 7.3 grams of marijuana and a loaded Rugar 9MM handgun.”

Reed, a convicted felon on probation, was arrested and his probation agent notified.
