Minden Police are looking for a local man in conjunction with confiscation of a serious amount of drugs last week.

Norman West, 58, is wanted following search warrants executed by a joint task force between Minden Police and Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies at a location in the area of Sheppard Street.

Minden Police Chief-Elect Jared McIver said around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, December 8 the officers and deputies served search warrants.

“We didn’t find West, but it’s just a matter of time,” McIver said. “We have investigators looking for him … and he knows we are. We just hope the public will help us find him. We need to get him off the streets.”

Charges against West include possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and ecstasy. Also located were  multiple containers of prescription medicines with no prescription.

Street value is around $3,600.

McIver said working with other law enforcement agencies is a good way to solve crimes such as this one.
