
Glenbrook Lady Apaches stole the lead late and defeated Stanley Panthers 11-9 Monday. The game was tied at seven with the Lady Apaches batting in the bottom of the fifth when Vivian Still homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.
Still led Glenbrook to victory by driving in five runs. Still went 3-for-4 at the plate. She drove in runs on a single in the fourth and a home run in the fifth.
Glenbrook Lady Apaches got things moving in the first inning. Gabi Brown drove in one when Brown doubled.
After Stanley Panthers scored one run in the top of the sixth, Glenbrook Lady Apaches answered with one of their own. Stanley scored when Aubrey Hubier singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Glenbrook then answered when Hadley Haynes singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Rebecca Mosley earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Glenbrook. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing 10 hits and nine runs while striking out three.
Riley Palmer took the loss for Stanley. The righty went six innings, allowing 11 runs on ten hits and striking out five.
Glenbrook Lady Apaches smacked one home run on the day. Still went yard in the fifth inning.
The Apaches totaled 10 hits. Still, Sarah Margaret Mosley and Brown all had multiple hits for the team. Mosley and Still each collected three hits to lead the charge.
Stanley Panthers tallied ten hits in the game. Karsyn Weeks, Christian Barton and Jade Jones all managed multiple hits. Weeks went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Stanley Panthers in hits.
