Lakeside’s Lady Warriors watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-3 loss to Captain Shreve on Wednesday. Captain Shreve scored on a single by #30 in the first inning and a error in the second inning.
The Lady Warriors struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Captain Shreve, giving up nine runs.
Captain Shreve got things moving in the first inning. #30 singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Lady Warriors tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Their big bats were led by Mackenzie McCoy, Meredith Robinson and Rainie Hughes, who all drove in runs.
Captain Shreve scored four runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Captain Shreve was led by #17, #16, and #2, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
#30 was in the circle for Captain Shreve. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out nine.
Paiton Levesque was on the rubber for Lakeside. Levesque lasted one and one-third innings, allowing three hits and two runs. McKenna Chreene and McCoy entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.
Lady Warriors saw the ball well Wednesday, racking up seven hits in the game. Hallie Sutton and McCoy each had multiple hits. McCoy and Sutton each collected two hits to lead Lady Warriors.
Captain Shreve collected 13 hits. #2, #16, #15, and #30 all managed multiple hits for Captain Shreve.
