Glenbrook takes win over Calvary Baptist

Glenbrook Apaches took home a 6-2 victory over Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers Tuesday.

The Apaches got things moving in the second inning when Hayden Harmon singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Glenbrook put up three runs in the seventh inning. Big bats were led by Seth Mangrum, Preston Frye and Cason Clemons, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Easton Sanders was the winning pitcher for the Apaches. The hurler allowed seven hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one.  Harmon threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Harmon recorded the last six outs to earn the save.

Kyzer Smith took the loss for Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers. Smith lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out six.

Glenbrook racked up 10 hits on the day. Mangrum, Clemons and Turner McLelland each collected multiple hits.  McLelland, Clemons and Mangrum all had two hits to lead the team. The Apaches didn’t commit a single error in the field. Landry Powell had the most chances in the field with 10.

Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers racked up eight hits in the game. Judson Funderburk and Aubrey Hermes all managed multiple hits. Calvary was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
