By Bonnie Culverhouse

Village of Dixie Inn Aldermen have four new business items to discuss today (Tuesday) at their regularly scheduled monthly meeting.

According to the agenda, Dan Dansby of ServLine, will speak to the council about a Leak Protection Program.

The company’s website states ServLine was designed for the following reasons:

• Designed exclusively for water systems;

• Protects utility against financial water loss;

• Protects customers from financial loss;

• Offers customized coverage at the local utility level;

• Administers all aspects of the program, reducing staff workload; and,

• It is only available to the village’s utility with no direct marketing to customers.

The board will vote on whether to replace Mike Griffith on Webster Parish Fire District #7 with Jim Edwards for the remainder of Griffith’s term.

Griffith has been appointed by Webster Parish Police Jury to finish the unexpired term of Bernard Hudson who passed away last month.

Edwards is Dixie Inn’s current police chief.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to apply for a yearly allotment provided by Webster Parish Police Jury. Mayor Donna Hoffoss said each year the police jury gives Dixie Inn $8,000 for road drainage repairs.

The board is voting on whether to allow Hoffoss to seek another fuel company for the village’s credit business.

Monthly reports will be heard including the following:

• Water/Maintenance;

• Police;

• Aldermen’s reports; and,

• Mayor’s report.

Dixie Inn’s board of aldermen meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Village Hall, Village of Dixie Inn. The public is invited to attend.
