Third person arrested in Ewell Park shooting

Minden Police have arrested a local man in connection to the shooting of four persons at Ewell Park Sunday, bringing the total arrested to three.

Jaylen Teal, 22, is charged with four counts of attempted second degree murder and one count of illegal use of a weapon during a crime of violence.

“Teal is a TTS (Trained to Step) gang member, said Chief Jared McIver. “He has been identified as a shooter.”

Arrested during this past week was Jamontae Holyfield, 21, of Homer who is charged with 4 counts of attempted second degree murder and 4 counts of carjacking. Holyfield allegedly entered a car with persons who were not involved in the shooting and then demanded to be taken to another location.

Also, taken into custody was Reginald Moore Jr., 19, of Heflin, is charged with 4 counts of attempted second degree murder and 1 count of illegal use of weapons.

Sunday’s shooting occurred during a permitted event at Ewell Park. The chief and mayor have released evidence showing the shooting is gang-related, and one of those gangs is TTS that has been on Minden Police’s radar for more than a year.

The investigation continues and other arrests are pending.
