The body of 46-year-old J.D. “Dee” Bogues was located in Claiborne Parish Monday.

Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker said law enforcement located Bogues’ body behind Springhill CME Cemetery in Claiborne Parish. He was reported missing by his wife on March 8.

“We searched high and low and used every investigative tool we could to locate him,” Parker said. “On March 13, De Soto Sheriff’s Office, at our request, sent a helicopter and we searched in and around Kisatchie Forest, which was the last place Bogues was seen.”

Parker said they looked in that area for four hours that day. – “down every dirt road you could imagine.”

On March 23, again at WPSO’s request, De Soto Sheriff’s Office sent a boat to aid in searching Caney Lake north of Minden.

“We searched Dorcheat, Dixie Inn, Doyline, Sikes’ Ferry – all the boat ramps trying to locate his vehicle,” said the sheriff. “April 1, a citizen reported a description of J.D.’s car on a dirt road behind Springhill CME Cemetery in Claiborne Parish, off La. 534.”

Webster and Claiborne Sheriff’s offices responded and located the vehicle.

“We searched for hours, walking in the woods, unable to locate him,” he continued. “On April 2, Claiborne SO contacted us, and we confirmed it was J.D.’s car.”

Monday, April 3, Delta Elite Canine Search and Rescue team’s aid was requested by WPSO.

“We found the remains in the wooded area behind the Springhill CME Cemetery,” Parker confirmed.

The investigation is ongoing, however, the sheriff said they do not suspect foul play.

Bogus’ sister posted on Facebook the family’s gratitude to all who have called and prayed for them.

“A BIG thank you to the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office For All Of The Long Hours Spent Searching For My Brother,” Laura Bogues Monroe wrote. “Please Respect Our Families Privacy At this Time …”

“Throughout this whole investigation, countless man hours have been spent  in assistance with De Soto Parish, Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Minden Police assisted us today,” said the sheriff. “It’s a sad deal, but we are happy we can bring some closure to the family and they can start the healing process.”

The sheriff added his prayers are extended to the family.
