Second inning plays key role in Lakeside’s blow out over D’Arbonne

An eight-run second inning led Lakeside  Warriors to a 14-1 victory Saturday.  Lakeside Warriors’ big bats were led by Jordan Isbell, Bradley Dick, Jon Jon Dick, Cooper Chase, and Cade Boley, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Hunter Sutton was on the pitcher’s mound for Lakeside. The pitcher allowed eight hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Davis started the game for D’Arbonne Woods. Davis surrendered three runs on four hits over one and one-third innings, walking zero.  Nolan and Lee entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The Warriors racked up 13 hits.  Chase, Boley, Matthew Aguilera, and Dick each managed multiple hits.  Chase went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.  Lakeside  Warriors tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Boley led the way with two.  The team was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. CJ Watts made the most plays with  seven.

Saturday’s game against D’Arbonne Woods was a heartbreaker for Lakeside  Warriors, as they lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat.  The game was tied at two with D’Arbonne Woods batting in the bottom of the sixth when Compton singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Lakeside lost despite out-hitting D’Arbonne Woods eight to four.

D’Arbonne Woods got things moving in the first inning.  Roberson’s sac fly scored one run for D’Arbonne Woods.

Hearn earned the victory on the hill for D’Arbonne Woods. The bulldog went seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits and walking zero.

Jordan Isbell led things off on the mound for Lakeside Warriors. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over five and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.  CJ Watts threw two-thirds of an inning in relief.

Lakeside racked up eight hits on the day.  Isbell and Cade Boley all collected multiple hits for Lakeside  Warriors.  Boley and Isbell each collected two hits to lead.

Doyline Panthers struggles to find groove against Quitman

Doyline Panthers had a tough time generating runs Saturday, dropping their game with Quitman 12-1.

Quitman got on the board in the first inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, Doyline tied things up at one when Caysten Mingo singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Quitman pulled away for good with nine runs in the third inning. In the third Blake Carter was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, Riley Duck drew a walk, scoring one run, Ian Tilley drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs for Quitman, and Maddox Duck drew a walk, scoring one run.

Logan Ponder took the win for Quitman. The hurler surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Benton Bates took the loss for the Panthers. Bates went two innings, allowing five runs on zero hits and walking one.

Noah Spears, Mingo, Dakota Stewart, and Austin Arbaugh each collected one hit to lead Doyline.

Quitman was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Pete Simonelli made the most plays with seven.

Early lead for Calvary seals fate for Crimson Tide

Minden Crimson Tide fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-1 loss to Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers Saturday.  Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers took the lead on a sacrifice fly in the second inning.

The Minden Crimson Tide struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers, giving up seven runs.

The Cavaliers got things moving in the second inning when Blayne McFerren’s sac fly scored one run.

Calvary Baptist scored four runs in the sixth inning.  Aubrey Hermes, Cade Bedgood, and Jackson Tedder each drove in runs during the inning.

Jackson Legg got the win for Calvary. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and zero runs while striking out six.  Jackson Moore threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Zander Rowell took the loss for Minden Crimson Tide. The lefthander allowed three hits and one run over two innings, walking zero.

Minden totaled seven hits.  Elliott Sheppard, Jakobe Jackson, and Bryson Ranger all had multiple hits.  Ranger, Jackson, and Sheppard each collected two hits to lead the Tide.

Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers  tallied 13 hits.  Judson Funderburk, McFerren, Bedgood, and Hutch Grace each collected multiple hits for Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers .
