
Glenbrook Apaches wins contest against Vermilion Catholic Varsity Eagles, 5-2, head to quarter finals.
The Apaches got things moving Thursday in the second inning of playoffs when Turner McLelland hit a solo homer.
Hayden Harmon was credited with the victory for Glenbrook. Harmon went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out nine.
Ayden Beraud led things off on the hill for Vermilion Eagles. The righthander lasted two and a third innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three. Sam Mayard threw three and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
The Apaches launched one home run on the day when McLelland had a four bagger in the second inning.
Glenbrook totaled six hits in the game. McLelland and Jackson Waller all managed multiple hits. McLelland led with three hits in three at bats.
The No. 3 Apaches play No. 11 Riverside Academy at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at Glenbrook.
