
Hayden Harmon didn’t allow a single run as Glenbrook Apaches defeated Riverside Academy Rebels 5-0 Thursday, advancing them to the semi finals. Harmon allowed just four hits.
A single by Cameron Matt in the first inning was a positive for the Rebels.
Harmon earned the victory on the hill for Glenbrook. The ace surrendered zero runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out 11.
Luke Hymel started the game for Riverside. Hymel allowed three hits and three runs over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero. Ayden Bullock threw three and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
The Apaches socked one home run on the day. Maddox Mandino had a long ball in the third inning.
Glenbrook racked up seven hits in the game. Mandino, Harmon, and Landry Powell each racked up multiple hits. Mandino went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead. Glenbrook was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Powell made the most plays with 12.
Matt led Riverside with three hits in three at-bats. The Rebels didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bullock had the most chances in the field with four.
Glenbrook will face Ascension Catholic in the semi final match-up at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, McMurry Park in Sulphur. The winner of that game ( plays the winner of Ouachita Christian and Opelousas Catholic in the finals at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12 in Sulphur.
