Seeds Women’s Center’s Birdies Fore Babies Golf Tournament last weekend did not collect the $20,000 executive director Amber Bradford hoped it would. It exceeded her expectations.
“Our total was $20,910,” Bradford said. “We were very pleased with the outcome. We had 16 teams play in the tournament and I believe it was a huge success.”
Bradford gave special thanks to Jeremy Utphall, who played a vital part in running the golf tournament, organizing teams, gimmick holes and is a huge supporter of Seeds Women’s Center.
“This is my second year as the director of Seeds and each year I learn more and more about how amazing our small community is,” Bradford said. “Our center is run by donations by our community, churches, and individuals. Having a fundraiser like the golf tournament helps Seeds continue to be a resource for families in our community.”
The organization’s biggest fundraiser is Seeds Annual Fundraising Banquet which will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 12 at Minden Civic Center.
“Seeds is growing and has already seen more than 150 patients this year for pregnancy tests and ultrasounds,” she said. “We have begun fatherhood classes and our graduation celebration is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 20 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. All are welcome to come and celebrate the dads and brotherhood they have established.
