Doyline, Red River play two games Thursday

Doyline beats Red River in low-scoring affair

Both teams were strong on the mound Thursday, but Doyline Panthers defeated Red River Bulldogs  3-1. Doyline pitchers allowed just one hit to Red River Bulldogs .

The Panthers grabbed an early lead on a walk in the first inning.

Austin Arbaugh got the win for Doyline. The righty went one inning, allowing one run on one hit, striking out one and walking one.  A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Noah Spears, Benton Bates, Cayden Mingo, and Kenneth Lee all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

Tyler Hughes started the game for Red River Bulldogs. The righty allowed one hit and two runs over two innings, striking out six.  Hester threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Mingo and Zach Normand each collected one hit to lead The Panthers.

Hughes led Red River Bulldogs with one hit in three at bats.

Tight contest between Panthers, Bulldogs ends in tie

Doyline tied the game on a groundout in the third inning and tied Red River Bulldogs 3-3 in the second game Thursday.

The Bulldogs fired up the offense in the first inning when Kade Martinez tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Cooper Hayes and Dario Galvez each collected one hit to lead the Panthers.  Doyline was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Zach Normand made the most plays with five.

Martinez led Red River Bulldogs with two hits in two at bats.
