A Claiborne Parish man was arrested by Minden Police for battery against his pregnant wife who is the mother of five children.

Tobias C. Tellis, 29, of the 500 block of Point Pleasant, Homer, is charged with felony domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

Minden Police Chief Jared McIver said Sgt. Chris Cayer was dispatched to an address in the 1500 block of Shreveport Road around 5 p.m. in reference to a domestic incident in progress.

“When Sgt. Cayer arrived, the victim was standing outside the residence near the road,” McIver said. “She stated Tellis committed a battery upon her in front of their five children who are under the age of 12. And she is five months pregnant now.”

The victim reportedly had visible scratch marks on her arms and legs.

“The officer made contact with Tellis, who was angry and clinching his fists,” said the chief. “He then stated ‘I did nothing to her but shove her face down into the couch.’”

Tells was arrested without incident, taken to Minden Police Department and later transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
