The Young Women’s Service Club (YWSC) of Minden will be at Victory Park from 10 a.m until noon Saturday, July 29 for their first Back to School Bash.
The YWSC is dedicated to the service and betterment of the City of Minden and helping families prepare for the upcoming school year is one of the many ways they work year after year to accomplish that goal. They will be handing out 100 backpacks filled with school supplies on a first-come, first- serve basis for students ages 5- 17.
“YWSC is proud to host our first Back to School Bash,” said YWSC President Elizabeth Campbell. “This event is entirely free thanks to our sponsors, B1 Bank, Hugh Wood Catering, Carroway Pre-Owned, AJ Price, Debbie Callendar with La State Realty and Goose Hill Farm.”
There will be food and bounce houses. The park will also be open, as well as the Splash Pad.
Campbell said, “This is a family friendly event so please bring all the kiddos and enjoy lunch and a fun time on us.”
The YWSC is still looking for sponsors for this event. Individuals and businesses can become “Classroom” sponsors for $200. This level sponsorship will give the donor 3 social media posts, signage at the event and a business card in each backpack. “Locker” partners for $100 will be given 2 social media posts and a business card in each backpack. A “Backpack” partner for $50 will be given one social media post per backpack sponsored.
