Academy Park played host to the 8th annual Prayer in the Park Saturday morning in Minden.
The tree canopy kept the scene cool as prayers were said for the new school year and spectators were greeted by a message from Mrs. Oreata Banks of the Webster Parish school system.
Mrs. Banks spoke to the crowd about ways teachers are working to educate the whole child and encourage students to reach their full potential in loving and nurturing school houses.
The event is a gathering for the community to pray for the city, law enforcement, school system, and more. Representatives from the City, Minden Police Department, as well as the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office and Webster Parish school system were present.
The event is organized annually by Michael and Quella Walker.
