The school year kicked off Thursday in Webster Parish, and the Minden High Louisi-Annes are ready for kickoff to the football season.
“They are off to a good start,” sponsor Mandy Patterson said. “They went to ULM for summer camp and are excited to showcase the new dances for the football season.”
The Louisi-Annes play a crucial role in boosting school spirit and pride. They perform at pep rallies, halftime shows, and other school events, energizing the crowd and instilling a sense of unity and enthusiasm among students, faculty, and the community.
There are four seniors on this year’s team led by captain Becca Balkom.
“Becca has been dancing for over fifteen years and has the expertise and motivation to lead the squad for the 2023-24 school year,” Patterson said. “Other seniors are fully committed and excited to support their peers as they embark on the new season.”
Other seniors include Raegan Qualls-Davis, Aliysha Butler, and Sharity Crawford.
The Louisi-Annes will participate in Meet the Tide, Wolves, and Roadrunners at Minden High on August 24.
The first football game of the season is September 1 at home against Parkway. Homecoming is September 29 against Huntington.
