The North Webster Knights fell to the Haynesville Golden Tornado 29-13 to open their 2023 campaign. 

Haynesville’s defense was the story of the night, keeping North Webster’s offense off the scoreboard until late in the fourth quarter. The Knights lone score during the first three quarters of action came off a scoop and score by defensive end Braylon Richardson. 

The Knights’ J’Kobe Lawson caught a short touchdown from quarterback Christian Whitlock for the Knights’ other score.

North Webster’s defense played well at times, including a second quarter interception by senior Xavier McGlothan; however, the Golden Tornado offense was able to find success on the ground as they have done many times before.

The Knights will look to rebound next week against the North Caddo Titans.
