No arrests have been made yet in a group brawl that led to a stabbing near Minden Housing Authority on East and Marion streets around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Minden Police Chief Jared McIver said a female was injured when she was stabbed in the head by a serrated knife, much like a steak knife.
“Fortunately, for her, it went between her scalp and skull,” McIver said. “It didn’t strike anything that could’ve caused death.”
The chief pointed out that in a group fight, it’s hard to tell who struck whom, however, investigators believe they may be looking for a female suspect.
“We know there were two subjects – both female – whose children had the same father,” he said. “We believe that led to the fight, but it may take a while to sort this one out.”
Condition of the victim is not known at this time.
