As the first month of the school year comes to a close, Glenbrook School is proud to reflect on the exciting events and achievements that took place in August. From sports introductions to family gatherings, the school community has shown incredible spirit and enthusiasm.
The month kicked off with the annual Back-to-School Night on August 17th, where parents, students, and staff gathered to celebrate the upcoming academic year. The event was a true showcase of Glenbrook’s diverse talents, as cheerleaders, sundancers, football players, cross country runners, Drumline musicians, and swim team members were introduced to families & friends.
The anticipation of a new season came on August 18th, when the football was officially kicked off with a scrimmage event at Jonesboro Hodge. Glenbrook’s teams faced off against Booker T. Washington High School and Jonesboro Hodge High School, setting the tone for a competitive and spirited season ahead.
Not to be outdone, Glenbrook’s elementary teams took to the field on August 19th, displaying tremendous potential and dedication from the very start. The young athletes’ commitment to their teams and sportsmanship was a true showcase.
One of the highlights of the month was the first GG’s Club event, held from August 21st to the 25th. This special occasion brought grandparents and their grandchildren together, allowing them to share lunch and quality time. The week was a success, as one grandparent expressed their joy in witnessing their grandchild’s progress and being part of the school’s incredible journey.
The Glenbrook community is filled with pride as they look back on an incredible first month of the school year. The dedication of the students, the support of the parents, and the hard work of the staff have all contributed to the promising start that sets the tone for the rest of the academic year.
As a busy but exceptional month comes to a close, Glenbrook School looks forward to the months ahead. As the students continue to excel in their sports, academics, and extracurricular activities, the foundation has been laid for an exceptional and unforgettable year and a great time to be an Apache!
